Last night was our last Babylon Twilight race of the season. We had a GREAT turnout with 9 boats on the starting line. New to the Fleet this year were Duncan Burns' Tartan 372 Beaumaris, and Ian Holzmacher singlehanded, on his Pearson 35 Wanderlust, long-time club members who are also Racers. Our fleet is really picking up steam and there is great, but friendly competition for larger cruising boats. I think this is what the Club's racing is all about.

Racing was tight and there were several close mark roundings and Port-Starboard crossings. Congrats to Naughty Dog, Kickin' Back, and Shadow for Podium finishes. Attached are complete results.

Afterwards all were invited to Babylon Yacht Club for an impromptu gathering. It was supposed to be on the dock, but the crowd trickled in slowly and somehow everyone ended up onboard Banshee, in the traditional Cruising Club fashion. I counted 21 people on board at one point, and my full-stocked icebox was emptied out! Needless to say, the season went out with a bang!

Next year we'll be looking to build on our success and add a few more dates. Updates to come over the winter.

See you all next year,

Chris DeMarco
