Eight boats showed up for the third extended season race. It was a beautiful evening with crystal clear visibility so exceptional that after the race, Barbara Burns commented that she could clearly see every mark of the course while at the start line waiting to begin racing. One of the nice features of the Tuesday night races is that  all of the late season courses use lighted government buoys as marks of the course, even at the start and finish lines. It makes finding them pretty easy, especially when it's completely dark.
We are cautiously optimistic about racing again next Tuesday night. If the weather continues to cooperate, we'll be racing. Watch your e-mails for information about the "Extended Season Racing."
A special thanks goes out to Barbara Burns for feeding the 20 or more cold skippers and crew tonight and throughout the racing season. Your delicious hot soup tonight was a perfect way to end this crisp fall evening and was sincerely appreciated by everyone who attended the after race gathering. See you next week. We hope!
